Wack-a-doo is a cross-platform MMO strategy game in a humorous stone age setting. One of its key innovations to the genre is that units will physically exist on the world map; movement will be more like in a board game, rather than the invisible teleporting units of current strategy MMOs.
It's currently in public beta. Check out the mobile app. Stay tuned, because the game will feature some more very exciting innovations! (that I can't talk about just yet ;) )
My Part in the Project
As a freelancer, I assisted 5dlab GmbH by writing the Vision Document and Game Treatment for Wack-a-Doo, based on concepts and ideas they had previously developed. Afterwards I joined the company as a Game Designer and in my time there was entrusted with a variety of tasks, such as:
- System Design (e.g. combat system)
- Interface Design (iOS and browser)
- Creative Writing (unit descriptions, website texts, both in German and in English)
- Documentation (Wiki)
Later, I also created sound effects and music for the project.
